Montpellier sign SA prop Justin Ackerman as injury cover
South African prop Justin Ackerman is set to join French club Montpellier in order to provide cover for the injured Antoine Guillamon.
Guillamon is set to be sidelined for between 6 to 12 weeks due to a groin operation, which has created an opportunity for Ackermann, who has previously played for Western Province, the Golden Lions and the Kings.
Jason Gilmore confirmed as Junior Wallabies head coach
The Junior Wallabies will be led by former Queensland Reds Assistant Coach, Jason Gilmore who takes over the reins from Simon Cron heading into Australia’s first National camp this week.
Gilmore has also previously been an Assistant Coach for the Junior Wallabies and has coached Souths to the Queensland Premier Rugby Final in Brisbane as well as the Queensland U20s side in 2015.
Sam Matavesi Signs for The Pirates
The Cornish Pirates have boosted their squad with the now officially confirmed signing of Sam Matavesi.
The back-row/hooker Sam joins from Redruth, and has also formerly played for Camborne and Plymouth Albion, and had a brief spell with Racing Metro in Paris.
Aled Davies To Join Ospreys
Ospreys have announced the signing of Welsh international scrum half Aled Davies who will leave the region at the end of the current season.
Fresh from a successful autumn with the Wales squad, 25-year old Davies has become the second international to make the switch from the Scarlets to the Ospreys.
Renowned for his fast, accurate passing and his rugby intellect, has signed a two-year deal that runs until the summer of 2020.
