The first game of round 9 of the Super Rugby AU, started with the Brumbies taking on the Western Force at the GIO Stadium. The Brumbies won 38-11 last week against the Waratahs and leads the AU log, while the Western Force comes off a disappointing 57-5 loss to the Reds and sits at the bottom of the table without registering a win to date. The Force had a late change to their line up with Godwin moving to the wing and Kahui replacing Lancey in the starting line up and Jooste coming on to the bench. The Force started the game on the back foot with a knock on from the kick off. They dominated the proceedings scoring the first points of the game with a try from Lee-Warner, however their disciplined slipped away and the Brumbies dominated the last 10 mins of the half with 92% possession and scoring two tries namely, from Wright and Banks. Three tries were disallowed for the Brumbies, Muirhead went over the line in the first half to score a brilliant try in the corner, Alaalatoa picks up the ball from the ruck but the try is disallowed for a knock on, Faingaa went over for a try after a rolling maul from 5m out, but the try was disallowed for obstruction. The Brumbies dominated the second half scoring three tries to secure a home final and a top of the log finish.
