The Chiefs marched on into the Super Rugby semi-finals with a hard fought 17-11 win over the Stormers. The Stormers opened the scoring with a penalty, but the Chiefs finished the first half strongly and kept the scoreboard ticking over with three penalties to lead 9-3 at the break.
The Stormers scored the game's opening try early in the second half to cut the deficit to just a single point.
The sides traded penalties thereafter, with the one point margin remaining entering the final 10 minutes. However, with just 5 minutes left on the clock, the Chiefs crossed for their first try to extend the lead to six points and ultimately seal the match to set up a semi final clash away to the Crusaders.
