Saturday Top Performers - Mitre 10 Cup

We take a look at the top performing players from all the Mitre 10 Cup action today.

Liam Mitchell - Manawatu Turbos

The flanker put in a great shift on a day that could easily have been a blow out for the Turbos.

He made great defensive decisions and tackled well, adding some great carries and support play.

Junior Laloifi - Manawatu Turbos 

The outside back has speed to burn and showed it with a brace of tries against Waikato today.

A youngster with potential and will be a high scorer this season if Manawatu continue with this type of start.

Dalton Papali'i - Auckland 

The Blues flanker started his Mitre 10 Cup season in similar form that he was in with the Blues during the Super Rugby season.

He got through a mountain of work and contributed in every facet of the game.

Salesi Rayasi - Auckland 

The speedy winger did not get a lot of 2nd half ball but was always a danger to the Steelers' defence.

He scored a great try showing why he was brought into the NZ 7's squad.

Aaron Carroll - Bay of Plenty

The young lock had an outstanding debut for the Steamers. 

He was industrious throughout as Bay of Plenty ended a 43-year winless drought against Taranaki.

The youngster weighed in with a try and was a consent threat on attack and defence.

Chase Tiatia - Bay of Plenty

Almost the whole Bay of Plenty team could have featured in the Top Performers but Tiatia gets the nod over the likes of Liam Polwart and Mike Delany.

Tiatia made a number of breaks at key times for his side and his offloading game was absolutely brilliant.
