Premiership Clubs At Odds Over Fixture Schedule
- 1627
Premiership clubs will make a second attempt to reorganise the fixture list on Friday after failing to come to agreement in the first meeting.
The Premiership's current fixture schedule has enormous holes in it following Worcester Warriors and Wasps' administration. However, the remaining clubs are yet to come to an agreement as to how the situation should be rectified.
The Times reports that the remaining 11 teams could lose around £500, 000 due to the cancelled home games.
The report adds that the season could be redrawn from round 14 onwards with the likes of Northampton, Harlequins, and Bath plugging the gap with a fixture against the Barbarians.
There is hope that the Club owners and executives will come to an agreement as the current fixture lists can see clubs play several games in quick succession then not at all.
Leicester Tigers, for example, will not play another game until November 11. While there is a possibility that Northampton could play just two games between mid-February and mid-April.
