- 1561
A thrilling game toopen the URC season for Munster and Connacht saw the home team take the win in a seesaw battle.
Here are our winners and losers from the game
Winners:
Tony Butler:
The Munster out half came on after Billy Burns went off to a shoulde rinjury. Butler looked at home and slotted his kicks in difficult conditions
Gavin Coombes:
17 tackles and 8 carries for the abrasive number 8
Alex Nankivell:
Nankivell was busy, he was involved everywhere possible and was constantly a threat to the defensive line.
Mike Haley:
Haley looks set to have a great year if his season carries on this way. His positioning on defence and attack is excellent and he scored a wonderful solo try in the first half.
Connacht Half Backs:
Ben Murphy and Josh Ioane were making their debut for Connacht in the URC and despite not having played together they looked as if they grew up as a 9/10 combo. Three tries between the pair and Connacht may have nailed down their starting pair.
Losers:
Billy Burns:
Burns had a shaky day on his Munster debut. Before being injured and fored off the field he missed two kicks to touch from a penalty and looked a bit out of sorts.
