Mitre10 Highlights: Otago v Northland (Round 3)

Otago secured a 33-28 win over Northland in round 3 of the Mitre 10 Cup. The first half was a tight affair with a try on the stroke of halftime for Otago giving them a 19-11 lead at the break. Northland struck back early in the second half to temporarily close the gap to just one point, but Otago responded almost immediately with a try of their own to lead 26-18 with a little over thirty minutes remaining. Northland kicked a successful penalty, but Otago crossed for their fourth try to all but wrap up the match. Northland fought to the bitter end and scored with two minutes to play to set up a nervy finish, but Otago held on to make it three wins from three to start the competition.
