Luke Reimer to Join Waratahs from Brumbies

Wallaby flanker Luke Reimer will join the NSW Waratahs from the ACT Brumbies ahead of the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific season. The 25-year-old has signed a two-year deal with his hometown club and will move to Sydney after the 2026 season, completing his seventh year with the Brumbies.
Reimer grew up in Killara, New South Wales, and played junior rugby for Lindfield. He attended Barker College in Hornsby, earning Australian Schoolboys selection and receiving the Bronze Boot award in 2018 for the most constructive player in a school Test series.

He joined the Brumbies pathway program in 2019 after impressing for Warringah Rats and made his Super Rugby debut in the 2021 AU semi-final against the Western Force. Reimer earned his Wallabies debut in 2024 against South Africa and scored two tries in 2025 to help the Brumbies record their first Super Rugby win in Fiji.
Reimer is regarded as one of the top breakdown specialists in Super Rugby Pacific. Waratahs coach Dan McKellar, who previously coached Reimer at the Brumbies, praised his skills and experience, saying he will strengthen the team’s backrow for the 2027 season.

Reimer thanked the Brumbies for his time in Canberra and said he is looking forward to returning home to Sydney and working with McKellar again.
