Ulster piled on the pressure with their extra man, but Munster survived the onslaught thanks to some outstanding defence. Despite their numerical disadvantage, Munster had a shot at points, but their long range penalty attempt went wide. Ulster managed to grind out the final 15 minutes, but did pick up a yellow card with time up on the clock. Munster would capitalise with a try well after the siren as the only points in the second half, but their unbeaten run in the Pro14 came to an end as Ulster marched on.

An intercept saw Connacht race in for the first score just 10 minutes in to lead 7-0. Connacht bossed the opening 22 minutes of the match as they added a second try to build a 12-0 lead.
