Highlights: Wales vs Australia
- 1477
The first half began with high tempo and physicality. Foley put a clever kick behind the defence and Steff Evans collects the ball but is forced into touch, Australia go to the back of the line out and Polota-Nua has the ball as the forwards drive over. Gareth Davies breaks from a line out on the halfway into the 22. Wales show some slick hands to get wide to Steff Evans finishing in the corner. Foley grubber-ed the ball just short of the Welsh line, Halfpenny and Koroibete collide and the ball is retrieved by Australia. Coleman crashes over next phase. The second half started just as quick as the first. After 50 minutes the game lost a bit of its structure with both teams getting tired. Wales were looking dangerous, with space out wide and attacking from deep. Evans went into contact but had the ball ripped by Beale, who jogged over the line as Wales had no one home. Genia controlled Australia's play well and tried to shut the match down. Wales began dominating at the end while Australia's captain, Hooper, was in the bin. Amos had an incredible finish in the corner from a J. Davies grubber. Bigger missed the kick meaning that Wales were two scores behind in the last play. Final score: Wales 21 - 29 Australia.
