The wing, who represented Argentina at the 2023 Rugby World Cup and most recently at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has joined the Club with immediate effect ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Renowned for his speed, Isgro has enjoyed success on the 7s circuit, winning bronze with Argentina at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, before being named the World Rugby 7s Player of the Year in 2023. Throughout his 7s career, Isgro has played 152 matches for Argentina, scoring 355 points (71 tries). At the Paris Olympics, Isgro featured against France in the Quarter-Final, scoring a try in the 14-26 defeat, before playing in the fifth-placed play-off against New Zealand.
At club level, Isgro played 15s for Mendoza before earning his Test debut for Argentina against Australia in the 2023 Rugby Championship. He was later selected in the Los Pumas squad for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France, scoring a try in Argentina’s 59-5 win over Chile.
Upon completing his move to Harlequins, Isgro said: “I’m very excited for this opportunity with Harlequins. It was always my dream to play for a club like Quins and I’m really looking forward to meeting my new teammates. I hope I can help the team to achieve our goals and I can’t wait to put on the Quins shirt and play in that stadium with so much history.”
Head Coach Danny Wilson added: “We’re delighted to secure the services of Rodrigo. He’s a dynamic athlete, quick and skilful, who adds further international experience to our squad and provides great depth on the wing. He’s a mature player who we expect to hit the ground running and contribute to our objectives this season.”
Rodrigo Isgro’s signing follows the recent announcement that Wales and British & Irish Lions duo Leigh Halfpenny and Wyn Jones have also joined the Club for the 2024/25 season.
