Harlequins are thrilled to announce Argentina international Rodrigo Isgro has signed a contract extension with the Club.
The winger arrived in South West London back in October and announced himself to the Stoop faithful in emphatic fashion with a stunning two-try performance against Bath, before crossing again a week later against Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park.
Prior to his transition into the 15-a-side format of the game, Isgro enjoyed success on the 7s circuit where he represented Argentina on 152 occasions and scored 71 tries. He won bronze with Argentina at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics before being named the World Rugby 7s Player of the Year in 2023.
At club level, Isgro played 15s for Mendoza before earning his Test debut for Argentina against Australia in the 2023 Rugby Championship. He was later selected in the Los Pumas squad for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France and has since become a regular feature at international level earning seven caps for his country.
“I am very happy to extend my contract at Harlequins. My time at the Club has been great so far and I’m excited for the rest of this season and beyond,” said Isgro.
“The people are what makes this club so great. The players and staff have made me feel so comfortable and welcome since arriving.
“One of my dreams is to win the Premiership and why not the Champions Cup! I also want to continue to be selected by Los Pumas and represent my country, and I feel I am in the best place to do that here at Harlequins.”
Head Coach Danny Wilson added: “Rodrigo has made a great impact since joining us earlier this season. He’s a physical specimen who can cause defences real problems and he’s shown he knows his way to the try line.
“Rodrigo’s ability in the air is also fantastic which has added another dimension to our kicking game, whether that be from the restart or in-play. He’s a brilliant young man, who has a desire to learn and continually improve his all-round game, and we’re delighted he’s committed his future to the club.”
