France claim flairless victory
- 1604
It was third time lucky for France in Rome as they claimed a 29-0 victory over Italy in an uneventful scrap-fest.
Handling errors, poor decision making, wayward kicking and ill-discipline was the order of the day in a first half which lacked intensity but thanks to the boot of Lopez, France broke the deadlock and kept their noses in front to head into the half time break with a 9-0 lead.
Two converted second half tries and five penalties shared among three kickers were enough to shut the Italians out.
More to follow.
