Eight Irishman make the Lions squad

A mixed bag coming out of Ireland who arguably have the biggest surprises in selected players as well as omitted players. Warren Gatland has gone with Bundee Aki which is arguably the surprise of the squad and this is likely due to the defensive ability of the Connacht man who contributes plenty on attack too. Garry Ringrose and James Ryan both miss out too.

Other players that have missed out are CJ Stander, Garry Ringrose Johnny Sexton and Keith Earls.
