Exeter Chiefs have announced the signing of Treviso and Italian international Michele Campagnaro. The 21 year-old centre will make the move to Sandy Park for the start of next season on a two-year deal.
This signing shows the intent of Exeter who are an ever improving side and Campagnaro is making the move to the Chiefs along with Geoff Parling and Ollie Woodburn. Campagnaro will now look forward to playing in the Premiership for the 2015/16 season.
“I’m very excited and proud to be of the Chiefs,” he said. “At the moment, I’m trying to do my best and perform well with my current club, but at the same time I’m very impatient to start this new experience.
“Speaking to other Italian players who have played in England, I’ve managed to get a lot of positive impressions and it gave the confidence to take on what I think will be a great experience.”
Campagnaro at 21 already has 13 caps for Italy and people will remember his two tries against Wales in last years Six Nations. This is an exciting signing for the Chiefs and they will be hoping to see the best of Campagnaro when he joins them next season.
