Bedford Blues have announced the capture of three new players for the 2019/20 Championship season.
Arriving at Goldington Road in the summer will be scrum half Grayson Hart from London Scottish, hooker Robbie Smith from Glasgow Warriors and prop Joe Wrafter from Birmingham Moseley.
Hart, 30, joins the Blues following a season at Richmond Athletic Ground where he has made 22 appearances scoring two tries. Originally from New Zealand, Hart has represented Scotland on the International stage on three occasions having qualified through his Grandmother who was born in Glasgow. Hart has Championship experience with London Scottish and Ealing Trailfinders as well as playing for Worcester Warriors, the Waratahs, the Auckland Blues, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Smith, 19, was confirmed as one of the Fosroc Scottish Rugby Academy Stage 3 players ahead of the 2018/19 season, with the hooker aligned to Glasgow Warriors. Having begun his career with Newton Stewart, he moved to Tennant's Premiership side Ayr, consistently impressing for the men from Millbrae. The hooker has represented his country throughout the age grades, and was named as Scotland's captain for the 2018 U20 Six Nations.
Wrafter, 23, is a no nonsense loose head prop who has had an impressive two year stint at Billesley Common racking up 47 appearances thus far. At six foot tall and 113kg, the mobile prop offers plenty in the pack having come through the Worcester Warriors Academy and playing at Clifton and Hartpury as well as picking up honours for Gloucestershire, North Midlands and England Counties.
