- 278
This Friday Aranos Coetzee runs out for his 150th match for the Cheetahs.
Born on 14 March 1988 in Windhoek, Coetzee's journey began in Namibia, before he continued his schooling at Boland Agricultural High School
in Paarl. He was selected for the SA under 18's team that competed in the African Cup.
Aranos represented the U21 Leopards and later NWU Pikke in the Varsity Cup, where they finished as runners-up in 2010. He then made his debut for
the Leopards in the Currie Cup before embarking on a successful stint in France. He played for both Racing 92 and CA Brive between 2010 and 2015.

Aranos joined the Cheetahs in 2016 and established himself as a key figure in the squad. He also became the first South African player to reach 50
Pro14 appearances, finishing with 52 matches between 2017 and 2020.
Over the years Aranos played in many competitions for the Cheetahs. His contributions were recoginised in 2017 when he was named as the team's Player of the Year.
Internationally, Aranos has represented the Namibia rugby union team since 2015, and has earned more than 40 caps. He also represented Namibia at three
Rugby World Cups, 2015, 2019 and 2023.
As he prepares to run out for his 150th cap, teammates, management, and supporters alike will celebrate a player who has given so much to the Cheetahs cause, a true servant of the game and a stalwart of Free State rugby.
