£4m Jackpot Up For Grabs For England Grand Slam

England will share a jackpot of around £4 million if they win the Six Nations Grand Slam this season, The Telegraph has revealed

The pay-out would include a £1m bonus paid out by the Rugby Football Union, with the governing body in line to receive around £25m in prize money and revenue share if Eddie Jones’s side win all five of their championship matches.

English players are guaranteed a matchday fee of £25 000 during the competition. Ireland will by contrast not receive any matchday fees as their contracts are paid by the Irish Rugby Union.

The Telegraph also reports that Joe Schmidt's side will recieve a bonus of £65 750 should they win the Grand Slam this year which calculates to a pay out of 1 725 000 from the IRFU.

Should an English player feature in all five matchday squads, and England complete the Grand Slam, they would receive £167 250.

A Six Nations title without the Grand Slam would see an individual player earn a bonus of £152 000.

A Six Nations title is worth about  £5.18 million to the champions while the wooden spoon is worth  £1.5m.
