Northampton nearly close the game out with another try but Jamie Elliott is denied by the TMO as the ball was in touch after it was kicked. Would have been an exceptional individual piece of skill from Elliott.

Try from Lee Dickson gets the bonus point for Northampton after a great decoy run from Burrell and North allowed a space to be created close in the Sharks 22. David Rose went upstairs to the TMO to make sure the try could be awarded. Stephen Myler converts to add the extras.

Great counter rucking from Sale allows them to get opportunity to go for posts but a bad miss kick from Cipriani keeps the score the same and Saints still lead by 12. Calum Clark returns to the field after 10 minutes in the bin.
