Full time in this Pool 3 Challenge Cup clash between Newcastle and Newport and its the away side who have won comprehensively with a score of 40-29. It was a game of two halves, after the Dragons took a 35-3 half time lead they then took their foot off the gas allowing Newcastle to come back and score 4 second half tries. Although this was not enough to get the home side back even in losing bonus point range as the Dragons lead was too much to claw back. This victory has sealed the group for the Dragons and they will now be looking for a home win against Stade next week to place them high up on the seeding list for the quarter finals.

A third try for Newcastle in this half cuts the lead to 16 with 14 minutes to play. Welch who has just comes on picks the ball from the base of the scrum and finds a gap in the Dragons defence which he cuts through and scores

Any minor chance of comeback appears now to be over as Dragons get their 6th try of the day. Off a lineout they go wide and Amos shows great speed and strength to get by his defender and score in the corner

Newcastle have pulled back another try. Having just made the break to get them into this attacking position Harris finishes it off sprinting round the outside of the Dragons defence to score in the corner
