NZ take a handy 28-5 lead over Ireland into halftime. Ireland got off to the perfect start, with a try just six minutes in to lead 5-0. NZ hit back with their first score midway through the half and ran in a second try around the half hour mark to lead 14-5. The All Blacks crossed for try number three five minutes from halftime and there was time for a late fourth score to see NZ take a comfortable 23 point advantage into the break.
