Connacht take a 17-14 lead over Munster into halftime. Connacht opened the scoring with an early penalty, but Munster hit back with the games first try to lead 7-3. Connacht responded immediately, with a try from the restart to reclaim the lead 10-7. Munster then picked up a yellow card around the midpoint of the half and Connacht capitalized with their second try to lead 17-7. Munster scored a try five minutes before halftime to trail by just three points at the break.
