In my opinion Kilcoyne is the complete article. Yes McGrath & Healy will scrummage all day but like Toner offer nothing in the loose bar the odd yard or two. One the other hand Kilcoyne offers a dynamic presence on the pitch, in loose play he's an extra back row, eats up ground with the ball in hand & Cronin is similar
@chris - for who though? McGrath is streets ahead and Healy has huge impact. We're well covered at loose head but for me DK will have to do some waiting before a part in 'big game' squad
@Donal - the headaches and good problems that Joe Schmidt has (in my view are Sean Cronin, Garry Ringrose, Ultan Dillane and Peter O'Mahony) paddy Jackson also prob there. I wouldn't change the starting crew from Chicago but I would push the boat out for competition. Let's hope next week is good :)
happy with that
glad they were tested and not a walkover, all about improving depth in our squad and plenty of lads tonight trying to make their case
Dave kilcoyne = legend, also to Tiernan o halloran and Keith earls
I thought Kilcoyne was immense when he came on Schimdt needs to consider him in the 23
O'Brien off pretty early - suspect he'll be in next wknd's squad. Yes Joey needs to practice his kicking, but he doesn't even kick at Leinster so fair play to step up at international level. He'll likely miss out next week I reckon. Good to see the depth we've got. So positive about the squad atm. Well done Canada tho. DTH is quality.
And all you Irish fans bagging me, take it easy. I wasn't talking down Ireland one bit last week. Full credit to them, watched the game with Irish guys and saluted (a handshake and a beer) them after. No festering here although obviously I was gutted. Looking forward to next weeks game!
Don't let the green jersey confuse you its IRELAND this evening!
