Sharks may have won that match, but all praise needs to go to that Griquas team who played 73 minutes of the match with a man down and managed to win a bonus point against the reigning champions. Had the Griquas had all fifteen men on the field we could be looking at a completely different result. That being said, they didn't have fifteen men, but showed a great fighting spirit to get the bonus point. Great start to the Currie Cup so far with some very exciting rugby.
Thank you for following Ultimate Rugby. That's me signing out. Cheers.
very entertaining match!
Brummer cross kick to Arendse who wins the aerial battle against Marais to score. Unreal scenes in Kimberley.
Greef unconventionally kicks long and chases, he applied enough pressure on Chavhanga to make him botch his kick into touch in the 22m.
Great work at the breakdown by the Griquas to win a penalty in their own half.
After a long spell of pressure from the Griquas, Sharks have turned it over.
Brummer charges down Zeilinger's clearing kick just outside the try line. Joubert goes to the TMO to ensure he makes the correct decision. 22 dropout.
Sharks offside at the breakdown. Griquas launch a kick to the Sharks 22m. Meyer breaks and the Griquas get just outside the try line. Griquas knock it in the next phase. Sharks scrum 5m out.
Griquas appear to have pulled the proverbial nail out of the coffin as they refuse to roll over and accept defeat. Superb determination by the men from Kimberley.
Zeilinger kicks across field for Chavhanga who just misses out. Griquas line out on their 22m. That could have been a lot worse.
