Ospreys are one of only three sides to have lost both their fixtures so far this season – the Welshmen lost their opening three fixtures in 2007/08 and again in 2012/13. Ospreys only success in Scotland since September 2009 was a 15-14 victory over Edinburgh at Murrayfield in February 2012.

Edinburgh are one of just three teams who have won both of their opening encounters in the PRO12 this season. The Scotsmen have not started a PRO12 season with three successive victories since 2009/10.
