After losing their first round opening fixture at the hands of Irish giants Ulster, The Stormers bounced back well over the weekend to earn their first win of the campaign.
In a press conference earlier todays Stormers' player Marcel Theunissen and defence coach Norman Laker, joined the members of the media ahead of their next fixture against Edinburgh in Scotland.
According to Theunissen, the atmosphere in the camp after the teams first victory has held them tightly together both before and after the game.
"We practicing together, and we were quite tight the whole week. There were quite a few loopholes that we worked on as we had a full week to practice and iron out all our shortcomings," the flanker said.
"After our performance against Zebre on Saturday night we got a lot of positives and confidence from the win and we will be taking into this week," he added.
In a post match interview after the Zebre win, Stormers Director of Rugby John Dobson expressed his delight with the way his team delivered on the gameplan in their bonus-point. Dobson highlighted that a more tactical approach was needed against a Zebre team that was believed could match them physically.
When asked about the potential approach for the match against Edinburgh, defence coach Laker was careful to give a tactical response without giving too much away.
"We have discussed a plan here or too, but we are more still focused on ourselves because there things that we still need to fix. So it is a bit early in the week to say 'This is what we plan on doing' so for these first two days we just want to make sure whatever we prep for will be good enough for Saturday.
This will be the first encounter between the two teams since last seasons round 12 fixture that saw the South African side dominate and come out 43-21 victors. The two sides also met in the URC Quarter-finals in the 2021/22 season, a campaign that would see Stormers eventually crowned as champions.
The official teams for The Stormers vs Edinburgh fixture will be announced on Friday.
