Sonny Bill Williams smashes Conrad Smith in the tackle and the Chiefs win a turnover at the resulting ruck. They go on the attack inside the Hurricanes 22m area but the ball is lost forward to bring the half to an end. The Hurricanes show class in the final moments of the half to score two tries and take the lead, although loses 7 lineouts and playing behind a retreating scrum.

The Hurricanes have a lineout on the Chiefs 22m line, Marshall slices the defence with a straight line and draws the final defender before offloading to Smith who goes over. Great first phase try.

Savea just needs to catch the ball and dive over for a try, but he loses it forward over the tryline. The TMO instructs that the tackle on Savea had no arms and thus a penalty try should be given.
