Juan Ignacio Brex was identified early on as a promising talent. He has represented Argentina at under 19 and under 20 levels, earning a total of 8 caps.
In 2013 he made the transition to senior level representing the Pampas XV (the unofficial 3rd string Argentinian team) and then earned a callup to the Jaguares.
He also has experience with the Argentina 7s and joined Benetton Rugby in 2015.
As of December 2019 he has made 22 appearances for for the side and has scored 10 points.
