Jonathan Joseph, known for his speed, agility, and defensive prowess, is an English rugby union player who joined Bath Rugby in 2013 from London Irish. Throughout his career, he has provided numerous outstanding moments in the Blue, Black, and White jersey.

With his natural leadership qualities and exceptional defensive skills as an outside centre, Joseph has made over 150 appearances for Bath Rugby, leaving a lasting impact on the club. One of his memorable moments came in the 2021/22 season when he showcased his awareness and skill by setting up two tries for Max Ojomoh with a well-executed dink from the outside of his right boot.

Joseph's dedication to Bath Rugby is matched by his contributions on the international stage. He has represented England over 50 times and was a member of the British & Irish Lions touring party during the 2017 series against New Zealand, which ended in a draw.

Joseph's rugby journey started at London Irish, where he made his debut in 2009 against Cardiff Blues in the LV=Cup. His outstanding form for London Irish and the England age group sides, including the England U20s, led to his England debut. In 2011, he played a pivotal role in England U20s' Grand Slam victory.

Having progressed through London Irish's youth system, Joseph's breakthrough season came in 2010-11 when he scored five tries in 13 Premiership games. His performances earned him a nomination for the Land Rover Discovery of the Season award, and he was subsequently selected for England's tour to South Africa.

Joseph's impressive ability was on full display when he scored two quickfire tries coming off the bench against the Barbarians. This performance earned him a place in the England Test side, and he made his debut in June 2012 against South Africa. His success continued, and he earned a spot in the England 2015 Rugby World Cup squad.

In 2015, Joseph was honored with the Rugby Players' Association's "Player's Player of the Year" and "England Player of the Year" awards for his exceptional performances during the 2014/15 season. He was the top try-scorer in the 2015 RBS 6 Nations Championship, showcasing his promise and talent.

Joseph played a crucial role in England's successful 2016 Grand Slam campaign, starting all five games. Under the coaching of Eddie Jones, he continued to excel, scoring a hat-trick against Italy in the Grand Slam-winning match. He repeated this feat against Scotland and became one of the few players with a 100% winning record against the All Blacks.

Despite facing injuries, Joseph's determination and resilience allowed him to return to fitness in time for the Rugby World Cup, where he played a part in helping England reach the final, making an appearance off the bench.

With 47 test caps and 17 tries heading into the 2020 Six Nations, Joseph's impact on the international stage and his consistent performances in Six Nations matches have solidified his reputation as a prolific try-scorer and a key player for England.

In May 2017, Bath Rugby announced that Joseph had agreed to a long-term contract extension, committing his future to the club until at least 2019. His contribution to both Bath Rugby and the England national team has firmly established him as one of the most talented and respected centres in the game.
