Momsen joined Rugby ATL on loan from Griquas in 2020. He then returned to play at the back of the scrum during the Currie Cup that year before making three appearances in Super Rugby Unlocked.
He played four times as a replacement during the 2021 Currie Cup following the MLR season.
After impressing in the truncated 2020 campaign, Momsen played an even bigger role in 2021 with his performance earning MLR Forward of the Year honors.
He featured in 17 of 18 games in the 2021 season, all but one starts. It included a first MLR appearance in the No8 shirt during the Championship Final against LA.
In September 2021, he signed a long-term contract with the Atlanta based club.
