Maximin started at the Rugby Club Bonnevalais at the age of 11 before being trained for one year at the CERF (Center d'Etrain Régional Fédéral).
Maximin joined the Center Haute Performance of the MHR during the 2015/2016 season.
He sealed his selection in the French U20s that played at the Six Nations in 2018.
He made his Top 14 debut for Montpellier in March 10, 2018, against Racing 92.
