The Worcester born scrum-half currently plies his trade in the French Top 14 with the Bordeaux Begles were he has became a hometown favourite since his arrival in 2010. Having represented both Boland and the South Westen Districts, it was the Blue Bulls move where Adams achieved most success with two Super Rugby titles, one Currie Cup, representing the Emerging Springboks against the British and Irish Lions, South Africa A and the Springboks on two touring matches in 2009.
He is known for his anticipation in defense and quick distribution of the ball from behind the scrum.
In June 2010 he joined Bordeaux, ending his international career.
In May 2016, the scrumhalf announced that he will retire from rugby union and will take up a role with the Bordeaux youth coaching staff.
