Grégory Patat is a former French rugby union player and current coach, recognized for his significant contributions to French rugby both on and off the field.
Patat played as a number 8 and lock. He spent 13 seasons at FC Auch, from 1994 to 2007, earning two Pro D2 titles (2004, 2007) and a European Shield in 2005. In 2005, he was selected to play for the French Barbarians against Australia A
After retiring in 2008, Patat began his coaching career with Astarac Bigorre, then returned to FC Auch. He later coached the forwards at Perpignan and served as head coach of the Stade Rochelais U23 team. In 2018, he became co-coach of the senior team, contributing to their success in reaching two Top 14 semifinals and three finals (Top 14, Challenge Cup, and Champions Cup)
In July 2022, Patat took on the role of manager at Aviron Bayonnais, a club in France's Pro D2 league. Under his leadership, the team achieved one of its best seasons, reaching the Top 14 semifinals in 2025.
In September 2025, he extended his contract with Bayonne until 2028
