Growing up in Chicago Heights, Illinois, Crowder was a wrestler throughout his high school athletic career. After competing with Purdue wrestling for 2 years, he found rugby as a junior and instantly fell in love with the sport. Following his 2016 graduation, Crowder moved to Seattle and quickly grew his skills through the Atavus Academy and became a valuable member of the Seattle Saracens.
He competed with the Washington Athletic Club at the 2017 Club 7s National Championship and most recently played alongside Team Fiji as the Viti Barbarians at the 2017 RugbyTown 7s tournament in Glendale, Colorado, scoring a handful of tries on the way to the tournament victory.
