Younger brother of Kitiona Vai, Codemeru Vai joined the All Blacks Sevens as injury cover in 2023, his first year out of St Peter’s College in Cambridge.
No stranger to the black jersey, Vai starred in the New Zealand Secondary Schools team the year earlier and also played in the New Zealand Under 20s.
He made his debut at the home of Sevens in Hong Kong and was named in the tournament Dream Team for his standout performances.
