Ben Strang is a strong defender with good game awareness
Strang is the only player from a Heartland Union New Zealand Schools team in 2019, he was the captain of the 2019 Whanganui Collegiate 1st XV, Strang began his rugby in the backline before converting to hooker.
He was part of the Hurricanes wider squad in 2021.
