Trained in Toulouse, Chalureau joined the club after a successful experience in Nevers in the Pro D2.
In March 2020, Chalurea arrived at Montpellier as a medical joker before signing a new three-year deal after impressing the club.
Bastien has played for France U20's, Montpellier and Toulouse as a lock. In the 2021/22 season, Bastien played in 20 Top14 matches and 5 European Rugby Champions Cup and in the 2022/23 season he played in 17 Top 14 matches and 4 European Rugby Champions Cup matches scoring a total of 10 points.
Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Bastien has been named to play in the French squad.
