From Tulsa, OK, Carter began playing rugby in high school with Union Rugby Club.
He represented his country on the U18 USA side, going to France for the European Championship.
Carter continued his rugby career in college attending Arkansas State University.
Out of college, Carter was drafted 20th overall by the Austin Gilgronis.
He joined the Dallas Jackals on a trade in April 2021.
