O'Connor debuted for Ulster back in April 2015 in Ulster's Pro12 victory against Edinburgh.
A member of Ireland’s U20 Junior World Championship side the lock made the move from Leinster to the Ulster Academy in 2012 as a 20-year-old, and made his senior bow that same year against his former Province.
Physically he has developed into a considerable presence in the set-piece and in the loose, and with ball-in-hand is a formidable force. Now a fully-fledged part of the professional squad, O’Connor has the potential and time to make a big impact for Ulster and at representative level.
In April 2017, Alan signed a new deal with Ulster to remain at the club until the summer of 2019.
Alan has made 40 appearances for Ulster at the start of the 2017-18 season.
As of the 2018/2019 Champions Cup, O'Connor has had 14 Champions Cup appearances scoring 1 try and 5 points.
Now a fully-fledged part of the professional squad, O’Connor has the potential and time to make a big impact for Ulster and at representative level.
So much that the lock forward had made as much as 1 083 minutes of play for his side prior to the season being brought to a halt.
