Anthony Faingaa

2nd Feb 1987 1.82m/92kg Outside Centre

Anthony, who played all but two matches in 2011, was arguably the Reds breakout performer only a year earlier, where he filled the void left by Berrick Barnes at inside centre with ease. He joined the Wallabies ranks in July 2010, making his Test debut against the All Blacks in Melbourne alongside brother Saia, becoming the third set of twins to represent Australia.

Anthony joined the Reds in 2009 although had limited opportunities and was forced to gain experience from the bench. He earned his first cap for Queensland that year against the Bulls during the Reds tour of South Africa, two years after making his Super Rugby debut for the Brumbies.

He was vice captain of the Australian Schoolboys (2004) and the World Championship-winning Australian Under 19s in 2006. He sealed Australia’s 17-13 Under 19 final win over New Zealand with a late drop goal and was later nominated for the International Rugby Board’s Under 19 Player of the Year. He also represented the Australian Under 21s in 2006.

In November 2016, the Wallabies centre signed a Brumbies deal to join twin brother Saia on a return to the nation’s capital on a one-year deal.

He will further highlight his skills in 2017 and will add to his 94 Super Rugby caps and 25 points scored since his debut 10 years ago (2007).
