Tait started rugby at Jed Forest minis, then moved to Hawick RFC, playing for their youth team from 2014-2021 before moving up to their seniors and then onto Boroughmuir Bears in the FOSROC Super6.
Cirey Tait's older brother, Rhys Tait, also plays at Doncaster and has joined the Yorkshire club after spending the first half of the 2025/26 season captaining Selkirk RFC . Selkirk RFC compete in the Arnold Clark’s Scottish Premiership and Border League.
