The son of Former Fiji 7's player, Tuidriva Bainivalu, Seru Uru attended the prestigious Ratu Kadavulevu School with whom he won the U18 Deans Trophy in 2015 before being recruited to Rotorua Boys' High School in New Zealand where he won National title with their 1st XV.

A former Fijian U20, Seru Uru proved to be one the best recruits in the 2019 Hospital Challenge Cup with his presence helping Easts secure back-to-back finals appearances.

The towering number eight boasts an impressive running game - scoring five tries for the Tigers, while his offload also saw him selected for Brisbane City in 2019 where he played in every match and scored two tries.

Following his impressive performance with Easts in Queensland Premier Rugby, Uru was handed a contract with the St.George Queensland Reds ahead of the 2020 Super Rugby season.

In the 2021 Super Rugby season, Uru played 11 games for the Reds making 59 carries with a 92% tackle completion rate.

Following on from his good form in 2021, Seru Uru made over a 100 carries, averaging 2m per carry and made 72 successful tackles.


Joe Schmidt named Uru in the Wallaby Rugby Championship squad for 2024 where he went on to make his debut against the Springboks in game two
