Santiago G. Socino, born on 7 May 1992, is an Argentine rugby union player who currently represents Gloucester in Premiership Rugby. His primary position is hooker. Socino has had a diverse rugby journey, playing for various clubs in both England and Argentina.

He initially moved to England in 2013 to join Hull RUFC, where he started his career as a back row player. After a successful stint at Hull Ionians and winning the National League 2 North title, Socino secured a full-time development contract with Newcastle Falcons in 2015. It was during his time at Newcastle that he transitioned from the back row to the hooker position.

Socino gained valuable experience during the 2015/16 season when he played on dual registration with Darlington Mowden Park in National League 1, where he was named coaches' player of the season. He made his first-team debut for Newcastle Falcons in a match against Saracens in the Anglo-Welsh Cup, where he also scored a try.

Impressing with his performances, Socino signed a contract extension with Newcastle Falcons in March 2018, committing to the club for two more years. During his time at Newcastle, he made appearances in European competitions, including the Champions Cup.

In March 2019, Socino caught the attention of Argentina coach Mario Ledesma, who was scouting European-based players for potential national team selection. As a result, it was announced in May 2019 that Socino would return to Argentina to join the Jaguares, a Super Rugby franchise.

With the Jaguares, Socino made his debut as a replacement in the final round of the 2019 regular season against the Sunwolves. He contributed to the team's success in Super Rugby and gained valuable experience at the highest level of the sport.

In February 2021, Socino made another move, signing a deal with Gloucester in the Premiership. This provided him with a new opportunity to showcase his skills and contribute to the team's success in one of the top rugby competitions in England.

Socino's versatility, having played in different positions and gaining experience in various leagues, adds depth and adaptability to his game. As he continues his rugby career with Gloucester, fans can expect to see his tenacity, physicality, and skill as a hooker on display.
