Grandson of the famous rugby commentator Bill McLaren, and son of former Scotland international scrum half Alan Lawson, Rory Lawson comes from a family rich in rugby tradition. After six years and one hundred and forty nine appearances for Gloucester, Lawson moved to the Newcastle Falcons at the start of the 2012/2013 season. Lawson made his Scotland debut in 2006 against Australia, in the process becoming only the 15th son to win a Scotland cap after his father. To date, Lawson has won 31 Scotland caps.
