Hewat, who bagged 636 points in only fifty matches for the Waratahs across three seasons, has been coaching at Suntory Sungoliath in the Japanese Top League for the past five years having been a standout as a player for the Asian powerhouse for a trio of years prior to his coaching appointment.
Having also played 78 times for London Irish in the English Premiership, Hewat will bring a wealth of knowledge to the role, in August 2017 he linked up with the Brumbies and fellow Assistant Coaches Laurie Fisher and Peter Ryan as part of Head Coach Dan McKellar’s staff.
