Allen plays his club rugby with Belfast Harlequins and played a number of games for the Ravens. Allen made his senior debut in December 2011 against Leinster at the RDS and was awarded a development contract the following season. Michael's has played most of his rugby at centre but his quick footwork and blistering pace mean he is equally at home on the wing, where he has proved to be a devastating finisher.
Edinburgh Rugby bolstered their squad for 2015 season by signing the Irish utility back on a pre-contract deal from fellow Guinness Pro12 side Ulster.
Allen retired from professional rugby at the end of the 2016/17 season.
