The young lock came to prominence in the 2014/15 as he played for Tarbes in the Pro D2 and made his debut in the national team in the game against Emerging Ireland in last year's Nations Cup. Antonescu played for the Sevens national team both in 2013 and 2014 and was selected for the Romanian 2015 RWC squad.
