Originally from Auckland, Manu Paea is a border at Rotorua Boys’ High School and was a standout player in the 1st XV.
With the ability to play halfback and centre, Paea has a strong running game and an accurate pass. Paea is also a standout in the shortened version of the game, named in the New Zealand Condors Sevens team after the 2018 Condor Sevens.
Paea joined Auckland for the 2021 NPC season and was included in the first Moana Pacific squad ahead of the 2022 season.
He made his debut for Moana Pasifika in Round 6 of the 2022 Super Rugby Pacific season against the Hurricanes
During the 2021/2022 Super Rugby season he played 7 matches and started 1.
He featured again in the 2022/2023 season playing 8 matches.
Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Paea has been named in the training squad for Tonga.
