Marnus Potgieter, born on 20 June 1999 in South Africa, is a talented rugby union player who currently represents the Sharks in the United Rugby Championship and the Currie Cup. He primarily plays as a centre but can also operate on the wing.

Potgieter attended the renowned Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool (Affies), a school known for producing top rugby talent. After completing his schooling in 2018, he joined the Bulls youth squads, marking the beginning of his rugby career.

In 2019, Potgieter earned recognition when he was selected to represent the Junior Springboks. He played a pivotal role as the team's first-choice outside centre in the 2019 World Rugby Under-20 Championships.

For the Bulls, Potgieter was named in the squad for the 2020 Super Rugby Unlocked competition. However, he made his debut for the Blue Bulls in the second round of the 2020 Currie Cup Premier Division against the Free State Cheetahs.

In June 2021, Potgieter made a move from the Bulls to join the Sharks, where he continues to showcase his skills and contribute to the team's success.
