Ella Ryan returned to rugby via the ACT Brumbies in 2025 after a two-year stint with the Canberra Raiders in the NRLW and previously playing for the NSW Waratahs.
Born and bred in Canberra, Ryan first picked up a rugby ball in 2015 at high school, and from that moment, she was hooked.
With both talent and drive to match, she moved through the divisions, representing the Canberra Brumbies at a schoolgirl level in both Sevens and XVs before making the jump to the Super Rugby Women's competition in 2019.
Ryan made her Brumbies debut in 2020, playing 11 games across three seasons.
She has also represented Australia in Rugby 7s at the Global Youth Sevens in New Zealand.
After a strong return in the Super Rugby Women's competition, Ryan was part of extended Wallaroos camps for the past two seasons before making the 2026 Pacific Four series squad.
She made her international debut off the bench against USA in Kansas City, Missouri, before an ankle injury in Super Rugby Women's ruled her out for the remainder of the 2026 season.
